When Easter rolls around every year there is no better place to be in the world than at Byron Bay's world famouse Blues festivak - Bluesfest.
The sun was shining and the people are the best on the planet, a place where kids can hang with their parents and teenagers can explore on their own in one of the safest festival environments we have ever experienced. Astonsihingly the number of children being pulled along in carts seems to grow every year...no doubt a whole new generation of Bluesfest audience.
Each year also allows you to meet up and hang with people you only see once a year but have developed friendships with over many years every easter talking about music.
Of course Bluesfest has matured and developed over time turining into more than just a blues music festival and is now really just a festival for those who love music of all genres. Peter Noble curates an amazing line up each year of legendary headlin artists and those just starting out in their musical career...it is an ecclectic and amazing mix and one that surprises even hard core rock journalists and photographers.
The one thing that really makes Bluesfest so muc more enjoyable is camping onsite...no need to worry about parking...no need to wait for a bus...and after ten years of going along to Bluesfest some of the best camping buddies you will ever meet.
2018 had it all with Legends like Robert Plant and jackson Browne, new talent such as Con Brio and crowd favoruites like Michael franti and importantly a swag of local Australian musicians like Sam Smythe...
If you only go to one concert a year...this 5 days at Byron bay should be it...so much great music...
Get tix for Bluesfest 2019 and celebrate what will no doubt be an unbelievable 30th Birthday
